细数美国秋季入学和春季入学的四大不同
大家知不知道，申请美国春季和秋季入学有什么样的差别呢？哪一个时间申请入学对于留学申请者而言更有利呢？
第一、入学时间不同
在美国，不同大学所采取的校历制度是不一样的，通常所采用的两种制度是学期制和学季制。所谓的学期制就是将一年的学习时间分为两个学期，第一个学期的起止时间一般是从八月中下旬或者九月上旬到十二月下旬，称为秋季学期，也就是Fall Semester。第二个学期的起止时间一般是从一月到五月中旬左右，成为春季学期，也就是Spring Semester。
而所谓的学季制是将学习时间分为三个学季（Quarter），第一个学季一般是从九月中旬到十二月上旬，称为秋季（Fall Quarter）。第二个学季一般是从一月到三月，称为冬季（Winter Quarter）。第三个学季一般是从四月上旬到六月中旬，称为春季（Spring Quarter）。剩下的暑季是假期。
第二、招生数量不同
从招生数量来说，毋庸置疑，秋季招生的名额要比春季招生的名额多很多。一方面，可以说几乎所有的美国大学都有秋季入学，但是并不是所有的大学都有春季入学。另一方面，即使学校设有春季招生，在招生数量上也是要少于秋季招生的。例如California Institute of Technology的研究生录取只招收秋季入学的。
第三、奖学金发放不同
奖学金的发放问题是绝大多数申请者所关心的问题，甚至有一部分的申请者能否接受一所学校都要取决于奖学金。春季入学从奖学金的获得概率上要比秋季入学小很多。
第四、从录取角度来看
有些人认为春季入学比秋季入学录取相对容易一些，理由是绝大部分的申请者都会申请秋季入学，那么春季入学的申请者从数量上没有那么多，竞争就会相对小一些。而有些人则认为春季入学会相对难一些，主要是考虑到虽然申请者的数量少，但是学校的招生计划也会相对少一些。
