第1章 序一 瑜伽之光

我非常高兴为李茂华的书《幸福是一场修行》写序。李茂华是一位瑜伽练习者,她的书分享了练习瑜伽的过程,我相信很多人会从这本书中受益。

瑜伽对人类健康的益处已经家喻户晓,它已经风靡了世界。还有一个重要的信息就是,联合国确定将每年的6月21日设为国际瑜伽日。

很多人已经把有规律的瑜伽练习,看作生活中不能缺少的一部分。随着瑜伽的练习和普及,它已渗透到人们生活的各个层次和方面,包括人的身体、心理、社会和心灵层面。那些没有练过瑜伽的人,也希望能在以后的实践中得到练习。瑜伽是一个维护身心健康的强大工具,可以从童年习练到老年,需要不断地实践和付出。练习瑜伽要遵循从简单到复杂的规律,正所谓“慢而稳者得胜”。随着对瑜伽的不断练习,身体、思想和心灵都将会达到更好的状态,如此,你便会赢得自己。伟大的瑜伽导师帕坦伽利认为,习练瑜伽的重要性和特点是,长久练习、持续不断、热情奉献、渴求瑜伽和坚持不懈。

瑜伽练习应该跟随一个有能力、有经验的老师。固然书本上的理论知识很有用,但是一个好的老师才是最好的指导者。我希望瑜伽能够给全世界的人们带来和谐与安宁。

I am very happy for Li Maohua's book "happiness is a practice" to write a recommendation. Li Maohua is a yoga practitioner, and her book shares the process of practicing yoga, and I believe that many people will benefit from this book.

Yoga is being popularized in the world because of its health benefits. Now the importance of it, is accepted by the UN and declared as 21st June as international Day of Yoga.

Some people practice regularly and made it as a part of life. It touches the life of man at every level, physical, mental, social and spiritual. Those who are not practiced Yoga, also wish to practice in future. Yoga is attracted by each community. It is a powerful tool of health which you can carry on from childhood to old age. It needs regular practice and devotion. Yoga works on the principle of Simple to complex. AS it is said, slow steady wins the race. Start with simple Yoga activities and follow the path for the betterment of your body, mind and soul. Maharishi Patanjali describes the importance of the practice (ABHYAAS) and characteristics. These are: long duration, continuity, devotion, eagerness and firmness.

Yoga should be learnt from a competent teacher rather than books. Other study materials are helpful but a teacher is the best guider. I hope Yoga will bring harmony and peace to entire world community.
