染发可以翻译成“hair coloring”，染发剂可以译作“dye”或者“hair dye”.
染发剂的种类：
染发剂可以分为暂时性染发剂（temporary），半永久性染发剂（semi-permanent）和永久性染发剂（permanent）.目前市场上最主要的都属于永久性染发剂。
另外，若只想头发颜色变浅（hair lightening），则可以使用hair lightener，或者还可以使用分解头发中黑色素的漂白剂（bleach），以及使已染色头发中的色素进行分解、脱色的脱染剂（decolorizer）.
