Agent: It's $900 a month and we require a 12-month lease. To movein, you'll need to have the first and last month's rent, plus a securitydeposit.

Mark: How much is the security deposit

Agent: It's $450.

Mark: Okay, I'll think it over and get back to you. Thanks for your time.

Agent: These units go fast, so if you're interested, I suggest that you jumpon it.

Mark: Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Ming: Do I get the $25.00 back if you rent the apartment to somebodyelse

Agent: No, the $25.00 fee is non-refundable. We use the money to ordera copy of your credit report. We need to find out about your history ofpaying bills.

Ming: I just moved here from China, I don't think that will work in mycase.

Agent: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn’t realize that you were new to the UnitedStates. In that case, when you fill out the form, make sure you includethree references that we can contact to find out a little bit more aboutyou.
